I wanted to create a jewel without limits.
This design is also a transformation piece in multiple ways. It takes my jewellery and myself out of my comfort zone and to a higher level.
And a butterfly is also a symbol of transformation.
The deathhead butterfly also represents the impermanence of life to me.
Which was always an inspiration to me, even when I was a child.
Death is not the end of things but a new beginning. Like a faded flower and a sunset.
It’s just the circle of life
You can wear this design as a brooch or pendant.
She is made of 18k yellow gold and Howardite quartzes, the black skull and black part of the wings are made of ebony wood which I shaped myself. The black wings have inlays of 18k yellow gold.
And on the back of this butterfly I have incorporated a seedling which is my signature piece.
It is placed in a UV resin.
